Hi I'm having an issue with my tachometer as of today. I was having problems starting my 1992 Honda Accord LX.Because the distributor was not working properly. So I got another one put it on and now the car starts rite up now.But now the tachometer not working.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The tachometer is controlled by the ICM inside the distributor. Take off the distributor cap and inspect the wiring for any damage. I believe the blue wire is the signal wire to the tachometer.

thanks for this useful information on tachometer going bad and its relationship with the wiring in the distributor. I will watch out for my Honda accord 1998 for similar problems

The 1998 is different - it's not a simple tachometer signal coming from the ICM. The timing signals are interpreted by the PCM and the PCM commands the movement of the tachometer needle.
