Default These airbags will be the death of me

My SRS light was on when I got my car. I cleared it, it came back on. I retrieved the DTC code and found it was a 5-2, "Internal failure of SRS unit". So I trolled ebay until I found a cheap unit. I got it in the mail today and installed it. Reset the light, it came back on. Now its showing a DTC of 1-3, "Short to another wire or decreased resistance in drivers side inflator".

So what now?? Has anyone seen anything like this and found the solution?

I never had to mess with my SRS on my 95. Are you resetting the SRS light by the MES connector that is under the driver's dash?

If you have the 94 shop manual, then you can check the connections to the driver's air bag and the cable reel. For your safety, follow all of the precautions in the manual about working on the SRS system.

It may still be a bad SRS module. See this thread:

I would but I believe you need the Honda resistor tool, which I don't have.

I sent the seller a message, hopefully they will respond favourably.
