Default Timing belt change?

Hey everyone,

My wife has a '97 Accord with 58k on it. I was not planning on changing the timing belt until it hits around 90k or so, but I'm a little concerned about how old it is (9 yrs). Should I change it now or do you think I could go til 80 - 90k before I do it?

Thanks,
Rick

Change it now, you are correct that the time factor plays in this also.

Yeah, listen to the advice. Don't forget the water pump too!

just did mine with 64k on it. mines a 97 also. change the timing belt, water pump, balance shaft belt (get the oil seal retainer from the dealer if it hasnt been done already), and drive (ac,alt / PS) belts.

along with markus parts suggestion . add a valve cover gasket and you might as well replace the camshaft seal..
