Default Tire issues, extreme wear

I purchased:
4 (28869) Falken
205/60R-16 92H B
Ziex ZE-512

and after 1 year, and less than 10K miles, they were extremely worn out.

The two front tires were worn out on the walls, both inner and outer on both tires.

I took it into the shop where I had warranty. They said they will not replace it to warranty because it is due to an alignment issue. I don't know how they can claim this, since the store Discount Tires do not do alignments. Also, the wear is even on both sides. So I do not know how they can claim it is alignment issues. I never noticed the car pulling or anything before.

I had to pay $260 to get the tires installed and I believed they should have been replaced for free.

Any advice on whether the shop had a right to deny my warranty or not?

edit-

Another thing. I maintain air pressure meticulously but notice that it drops 5 psi, between tank fillups.

It's in your best interest to get an alignment either way. Take it to a reputable, non-franchise alignment shop; shouldn't be more than $80 + tax for all 4 wheels. If you're alignment is within spec then you have proof the tire wear was not alignment related and the tires should be warrantied (prorated, meaning you'll get about 83% of your money back to buy new tires). If you're alignment was off, it will now be fixed and your new tires should last much, much longer. ***Make sure you ask for a printout with before and after specs.

Did the tires wear even front to back? Front toe can be off from a pothole with no noticeable effect on driving, steering wheel may be off center, but tire wear can rapidly increase. Losing 5 pounds of tire pressure can also affect tire wear. Things like worn ball joints can cause interesting, one-corner tire wear issues. Pulls are usually cause by the tires themselves (belt shifting, unbalanced), not alignment.

Since you need new tires either way, tell them you want the wheel wire brushed before they mount the tires. This will get rid of the corrosion on the wheels and almost guarantees a leak-free seal. Cast aluminum wheels can be porous as well and slowly leak, although it's not that common. If the new set of tires lose air as quickly, take it back to the shop that mounted them immediately and suggest they wire wheel the rim and not just use bead sealer.

They are right in claiming an alignment issue though. If the tire comes with a 60,000 mile warranty from the manufacturer, it is generally designed to exceed 60,000 miles so the company/installer doesn't lose money on warranty claims. Driving styles (acceleration/braking, cornering speeds, etc.) will also wear tires at different rates. The tires are designated as "High Performance All-Season" which indicates increased grip and usually increased wear as well, although 10,000 miles is absurdly low.

Wear to both sideways (both outer and inner edges of the tire tread) is under Inflation. The only wear to a tire that I can think of that would fit the warranty is uniform wear across the tread other than things like a belt shift or blowout.

did you ever chk tire pressure ?? if pressure is low , tire will wear on inside and outside edges,,,,,did you ever rotate tires ??
if camber is off , it will wear your tires either inside or outside ,but it will not cause much of a pull
,,have a shop do an alignment and MAKE sure to have the before and after readings ..........

if the before readings are all within specs ,, you might want to show it to the tire place and hopefully get a deal on a new set of tires at reduced price ,,
