Good luck with that.

Honda auto trannys don't have a pan. The "filter" is an internal screen of sorts, & you have to remove & dismantle the tranny. It's NOT a routine replacement.

Did you have it power-flushed? Hondas don't seem to like that. Drain/fill a few times & drive 20 miles between.

Did you use Honda ATF?

i didnt have it power flushed and i did indeed use honda atf for it. the tranny went out on my once when i was driving like i lost everything no gear what soever. then i let it sit for a few minutes and i got it back but only up to like 25 mph then it died out again. i changed the fluid then it ran great for a few days then died out again so idk what the problem could be yet.

if i could figure out the root of the problem it would be nice. Im not conviced that the tranny is blown yet or even close. then again i dont know enough about the transmission to make that diagnosis. does that screen usually get cleaned when you put in new fluid? or how can i save my self form spending 1500 to get it rebuilt

When you said it died can you clarify? Does it feel the same as neutral and you can rev the engine freely and no movement of the vehicle?

i can shift the stick into whatever position i want and rev the engine. neutral or any of the other ones as of now. when i said it slowly went out i used to be able put it in gear (d4 or reverse) and if i waited 10 seconds or so it would pop into gear but i wouldnt be able to drive far before i lost it again. ( after it warmed up) so its a paper weight right now. i start it ever yonce in a while just to remember how things were lol. but yes i can definetly rev it

I can see why you were looking for a filter.
