tranny issue

ok so im new to the forum....welcome me! anyways my honda seems to shift kinda rough and then when it runs for a while it doesnt shift out of first gear....but when the engine is cold it shifts okay...any suggestions?

OK, what is it. You said Honda, so I guess it's not a 72 Pinto.
77 Accord?
75 Civic CVCC?

my bad its a 96 accord lx, and im thinking it a sensor problem
