1990 Accord LX auto tranny will not come out of park on cold winter days if it sits long. Must wait for the car to heat up until it lets shifter move. Any ideas on problem??

 

It appears that there is indeed a problem and you must live in a cold climate! Try this: Leave the transmission in neutral (excepting hills) and use the E-brake to keep the car from moving. This is NOT a cure but it may get you by until you can have it checked out by professionals.

 

Auto tranny's are complicated you need to see a transmission specialist.

 

yap = the shifter consule has to be taken apart and cleaned out of grease and properly regreased.

its not that common but does happen.
