Got my scan today. The code is P0740 TCC does not engage. Is it possible the when the fluid released from the vent valve that it could have shorted the circuit. What action should I take in correcting this?

Is the code PO740 TCC not engage or is there a problem with torque converter clutch circuit ? Did you try to clear the code to see if it's stay off ? If it doesn't then there is a problem with converter clutch circuit, which could be the lock up solenoid itself or wiring, torque converter itself, or could be inside the valve body which the transmission needs to be overhaul. Now, is the leak still there ? Check and make sure the fluid is full with engine running, drive it and check it again when "Hot" and see if the fluid coming out of the vent again, if it is then your converter is no good.

Are you having problems shifting? If not it might just be throwing a code because things got messed up in there. You could take it to a mechanic and see if they'll check it out for you, but it might just need to be reset after it over flowed.
