Butterflys are "intake-air bypass" = IAB
Long runners always open for low-rpm; the short runners open for high-rpm.

Lets see how it works with base idle of 600...

hey man, and other guys from earlier, thanks for all the help.

so bad news, the base at 600 did nothin for the regular idle, still at 12-1300

also, i realized that i had a leak by the air filter, i have a custom intake so that vacuum is doin nothing but suckin, plugged that, now the car dies at 800 with iacv unplugged.

not sure whats goin on here, if i had to blindly decide what to do next, like i do, i would try cleaning my iacv. even though it looked clean, checked it last week.

also, the timing was set with the idle at 1300, could that have screwed with it bad enough to not let it idle low with iacv unplugged?

haha, i figured those were what helped the car kick it up at high rpm. i was very tempted to remove the butterflies when it was open but that car is soooo touchy.

Ah, maybe spark timing. You might have to play the spark and the RPM back & forth to work them both back in line??

I'm also thinking more about the boost valve. Not knowing really how it participates in the idle control, that remains a question in my mind.

But, I adjusted tp sensor....
And set base to 550.

Waiting for cooldown. Hopefully this will be it.

Let us know how it goes.

If the idle is still high once the car is warm - normal op temp. Put your finger over the lower "port" inside the TB and see what happens.

I'm assuming the butterfly inside the tb is closing all the way now? I saw something about a screw on this.

stupid question,

is the green line 0 and the red line 500?

aftermarket tachs look way less confusing

if i plug lower hole engine goes to slower idle.

i was wrong about the idles i was talking about earlier, 800 was the lowest i could get it at.

and yes the butterfly is closed now.

is it okay to try and adjust timing when iac is unplugged?
or lack of electricity make something not work right? ot something else?

im wondering if getting the timing closer to what it should be would help.

seriously though, thanks for all the help
