Not exactly, more like a ball bearing rattling around in a soda can. Its gone now, but the mechanic said their is still a slight noise (I can't hear it). He said the noise is the Cat andit will crap out sometime in the future. Looking forward to getting rid of this car, my A/C just crapped out on me again and I don't want to put another cent into this car. [:@]

If i would have read this post i could have told you that, i had the same problem with my 95 ex, the pipe inside the pipe is loose, factory default. I had bought a new exhaust for 108 from autozone, replaced it and no more rattle.

You might of had a similar problem but worse. I took the car to a mechanic and had the rattle fixed for only $25. Didn't need a new exhaust, but I have gone through a few mufflers over the lifetime of this car.
