RE: Transmission shake
So I'm driving to work today 65-70mph get off at my exit to work im in 35-45mph speed zones. After tightening the cable on the transmission i no longer have shaking and i have great solid shifts only now in the 38-43mph range give or take under constant throttle and speed i hear a grinding noise coming from the transmission. It's sudden when it happens like something clicks then it grinds but there is no jolt or anything felt, just the noise. So for fear that this grinding was doing damage i loosened the cable back out. No more grinding after this but now i am back to sloppy downshifts and shakes. I tried to find a happy medium by adjusting in between but none could be found, it's either one way or the other. Do these symptoms help anyone to know whats going on here?

RE: Transmission shake
to adjust the throttle cable at tranny......start ther car . let it warm up( fans come on ) let it idle normally ( 700-750 in park )..
you need to look at the shift cable lever at tranny while slowly accellerating via the throttle cable at throttle boby, as speed starts to go up, the shift cable lever should start to move up at the same time ,, ( loosen the 12 mm nut and adjust the shift cable to be in sync ) ,,there are other ways you can do it to be more precise( hook up pressure gauges ) but this gets it really close to what it ought to be ..
try it see if shift cable is in sync ..
