The other day I noticed that when I made a right hand turn, my stock 97 Accord SE (auto) downshifted like it is supposed to, then as I went into the turn and accelerated, the motor revved way up before the transmission began to engage. There was no sudden "clunk" or anything, just the high revving. Some people say that this normal, but I don't think so. Are there any adjustments that can be made? The car has 114K miles and has been very well maintained. I'm the original owner. Thanks.

 

sounds like slippage to me......chk to make sure it has planty of fluid ... d lite on ??

 

change fluid and add some lube guard for imports. My 94 did that until I change the fluid and once I did, problem solved. I would get it when going up a clover leaved entrance ramp..

Not to be a thread jacker, but what lube gaurd would you recommend? Is it safe, and how exactly does it work, is it safe, and when would I need it as I also have a 97 auto?
