Default Turning off Day time running lights at a stop.

Not sure if this is common knowledge.

While car is running, place car into neutral.
Pull up parking brake.
Turn car off.
Move transmission into Park.
Restart car.
Lights will remain off until turning off parking brake.

I am curious why you found this out. What was your purpose?

There have been many times I wished to sit in my running car without the DRLS on... that's all.

By the way, I don't post much on the the forum these days, please feel free to forward or change forum directories if need be. I thought this was fascinating information that I had not found until stumbling upon myself. Thanks fellow accord fans.

Some might call this "drive in" mode.....I know there aren't many drive in movies anymore but at one this comes in handy.....I've used it a few times in the 2016 Pilot.

In the 16 Pilot, you just set the e-brake before turning the car to "Acc" mode.

Hmmm, taking the car out of gear, releasing the clutch, and pulling the parking brake turned off the DRLs on our former GTI and I'm 99% sure the same thing happens with our new Mazda3.
