Upper Control arm and lower tie rod
Upper control arm is pretty simple. There is no lower tie-rod. Do you mean inner and outer tie-rod or the lower ball joint?
The only special tool that you will need is something to separate the ball joint from the knuckle for the upper control arm. You can rent a pitman puller from places like autozone for free. I have used the smaller one for the upper ball joint and the tie-rod end. The bigger one will work for the lower ball joint if you have to replace it.
If you meant the lower ball joint, then you will have to press in the new one. It may be simpler to remove the knuckle and have a machine shop do that part of it. Also, the axle nut will have to be removed which will require a 36mm socket.
