Default Vacuum Advance Diaphragm Broke Off 1987 Accord LX

I got a new metal replacement but I can't figure out how the push rod is attached. The Honda manual shows an "E-CLIP" but it's not visible. Does anyone know how to replace the diaphragm?

Looks like a "push lock" instead of an e-clip. If you can get a small screw driver under it you should be able to pry it off. Only fun is there is a chance you will damage it so you will need to find a replacement e-clip or "push lock".

Thanks Poorman for responding, I always very much appreciate your insight. What I have (20A1) is not like the distributor shown in the digital Honda Manual. I've done more sleuthing and found an image (see attached) of what looks like parts for my distributor and it doesn't look like there is an e-clip, if so it's on the backside and I can't imagine how it could be installed. It looks like it has a pin designed to capture the vac-advance push rod without a clip. I'm hoping when the 2 mounting screws are removed the pin locating the vacuum advance push rod will just pull out (no e-clip...I hope) HA! It could never be that simple.

Background: I did the Weber 32/36 conversion which is great but when I installed the hose on the vacuum advance it crumbled in my hands. The plastic is so deteriorated that it can be broken with just slight finger pressure.
