Default Vibrations while idoling

I recently got a 1997 Honda Accord EX Sedan with the VTEC for my first car, and it idols pretty rough. Is that normal with the older VTECs? Or what?

The idle should be pretty stable. How are the maintenance items like the distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs? Have you had the car scanned for codes? Most parts stores will do this free of charge. Your connector is behind the ash tray.

Well we did have one of the most trusted mechanics in our area check it out. But I was planning on checking to spark plugs today. What exactly do you mean by rotors? and what should I look for with the distributor cap?

The distributor rotor is the part of the distributor that spins and makes contact with the distributor cap connections.

You want to make sure the metal contacts in side the distributor cap are not worn out. The edge of the rotor should look in decent shape. Check for any fine cracks in the distributor cap as well.
