Redbull I think ur right....the Vss outputs the 5v....it wouldnt make sense to have almost 17v going into the Vss.

So where do i go from here?

Follow the orange wire back from the Vss with a volt meter?

I have good continuity from the Vss to the cluster...where do i go from there?

I think i read pins b10 and A26 at the ecu are for the Vss...

There's various ways to go about trying to find the short. It could be anywhere along the orange wire like I posted in my post #2. However, I would suspect the ECM first, then move on to other areas if that is not the cause. Do the following individually so it narrows down the area easier.

1. With the VSS unplugged, unplug the ECM 16P gray connector. Check to see if there is still voltage on the VSS orange wire.

The VSS orange wire input is at ECM pin B10.

2. With the VSS unplugged, unplug the TCM 22P gray connector. Check to see if there is still voltage on the VSS orange wire.

The vehicle speed orange wire input is at TCM pin D9.

The ECM is located under the front passenger carpet. Next to the TCM you mentioned you replaced. The ECM is the larger module on the right side.

There are 3 gray connectors plugged into the ECM. The 16P connector is the middle smaller connector (Connector B).

You would disconnect the 16P connector. Then with the VSS unplugged, check for voltage on the VSS orange wire. Ignition may or may not need to be turned ON, to see if there is voltage on the orange wire.

Heres schematic found for the vss incase anyone out there needs to start troubleshooting.

I measure 4.8 at the ecm but i backprobed it. Key on vss unpluged...does that mean my ecm is toast or should i have taken the reading with plug B unpluged from the Ecu?....

1. The diagram you posted is for a Civic; but, the circuit is similar. The wire colors are different for your Accord.

2. Even if you backprobed the orange wire at the ECM, if other components are still connected, the voltage reading you got could have been back-feeding from another component or wiring.

Disconnect ECM connector B and the VSS, then take a reading on the orange wire on the harness side. Is there still a voltage reading?
