Default VSS leak?

Is it possible for a VSS to leak steering fluid into the tranny? Just curious.

Where would the steering fluid come from? The VSS is simply a magnetic sensor that sticks into the tranny. Even it it's broken, you would stillneed some way for steering fluid to get poured onto the VSS???

My VSS is also the controller for the speed sensitive steering, so there are PS lines going to it.

Wow, I feel dumb; I just looked that up & you're right.

PS fluid is in there, so I guess it's possible. That VSS looks like a little pump of sorts. There has to be a shaft seal, so that would be the place.

Do you see evidence of it leaking?
