Water on passenger side floor under glove box
Just found a lot of water on the floor of my 1996 accord lx coupe... It appeared to be leaking from just under the glove box while I was driving.... It is not coolant, just plain water... Just drove the car through a rain storm, so maybe there is a leak? I looked under the hood and did not see a point near the firewall where water would come in? The car is in perfect shape, no rust... Anyone else have this occur?
No sunroof, I did just use the AC as it is hot and humid here in northern Ohio today... Question then is it appears to be the A/C evaporator drain tube... How would I clear that tube as it most likely is clogged if I am getting water on the floor...
Find it coming out at the bottom of the firewall, maybe difficult to see with the steering rack in the way.
Fish a plastic wire (like from a weed trimmer??) up that tube & root around with it. Maybe squeeze the tube? Watch for a face-full of gunk to come out if you're underneath the car. Something like a coathanger risks tearing a hole in the side of that tube.

Jim Blake: Thanks, I'll drive the accord up onto my car ramps within the next coupe of days and give it a go as long as I can find the drain tube, it should work... I'll let you know and take a pic of the process if I can and post it...
I've used a wet vac to clear the drain tube. This has less risk than a probe wire and should clear the tube.
Leaves/dirt can enter evap box and accumulate to block the drain. The debris may not clear w/ either probe or shop vac due to size/volume of the debris. In that case, you will need to remove AC charge, remove and clean evap box.
good luck
