What can I do and how hard to do it
I have a 08 Accord sedan. We have been having mouse issues with the car. A couple nights ago my daughter drove the car and when she got home she smelled gas. checked the engine and found no leaks. The smell went away for a few days.Got home and told me she smells gas again. I left the car sit in the garage and ate dinner. Went back out and checked engine. Still no leaks. I took the car for a drive. Got back and I smelled gas too except it was under the car. I looked under the car and saw gas dripping off the fuel tank.. Told her to leave it sit. Last weekend decided to check it out. Figured out how to remove the back seat. I lifted up the cover over the fuel pump. There was gas all around the fuel pump. Started car up and saw a pin hole in the fuel line and mouse turds all around the pump. The mice punched a hole in the line. I can not get to the hole in the line to cut it and splice it. So my next thought is I am going to have to remove the gas tank to get to the line. I am hoping someone may have an idea ho to fix this with out removing the tank I went under the car to see if I could access one end of the line unhook it and remove the line fix it and re install. The metal line goes up over the tank.Another thought would be to cut the line under the car pull it fix it and use a compression fitting to reinstall the metal line back. If this is an idea which line under the car is the fuel line. There are 4 or 5 lines going up to the tank. If I have to remove the tank how hard of a job is it to that?
Any body have an idea? If someone has a picture of the lines? I have been all over and if I owned an older accord there are thousands of ideas. Youtube has thousands of videos if I own a 2007 or older. Does nobody have any issue with fuel tanks with these cars? a live picture of the tank out and the lines could give me an idea how to approach this
