I have a 95 Accord EX 4 cyl VTEC. After I start the engine I hear a humming noise for about 2-3 seconds that sounds like an electronic pump presurizing or something to that effect. This is after I start the engine, not before. It is definately coming from under the hood or dash area, but I can't tell what it is. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

 

ABS pump maybe?

 

After listening to the noise some more, it appears to be coming from the power steering. Is it normal for a power steering pump to make a noise like this?

 

No, that's probably not a good sound. Isn't there enough fluid in there? any noticable leaks?

If it goes away it's probably not a big problem yet, but keep your eye on that guy, just in case.
