Default Wheel Bearing Question

I took my 99 Accord EX V6 to a mechanic, and he said that I need to have my front passenger side wheel bearing fixed, and gave me a quote of $245, including labor. I'm trying to buy the part online, so he won't overcharge me for it, but do I need to buy the wheel bearing, and hub Assembly together, or can I just get the wheel bearing?

Not the route to do.
If I have to have shop fix car; I now am sure to let them buy the part.
Oherwise, if I buy the part, there is no warranty on the repair working at all. Been there.

Wheel bearings are not that expensive what price did the shop quote for parts/labor? Ive brought parts in to have them installed, there is the downside if they fail early your not getting a freebie out of the shop as you supplied the part. If it were me based on the cost of a wheel bearing I would just have the shop put one on unless you have one for some random reason you already bought and cant take back.

Well of course the shop marks up the cost of parts. Think about it....they have the time involved looking up and ordering, their money is tied up, and they are running the gamble the part will not fail.
Then consideration of labor times that shop charges; Overhead and Special Tools, as well as pay to the tech doing the job.
I used to repeatedly tell my service manager "If I don't value my time, no one else will"

^^^^Exactly.

We used to mark up our parts 50-60 percent and if the customer brought his own part in, labor times went up, as well as no warranty on the part.

I always used to say to customers that complained about prices "if we all did business, at the cost of doing business, we'd all be out of business"
