The point of this "cheap fix" is to disconnect the leaking heater core from the system. You won't have any heat. It's not a proper repair, it's just a way to get by until you can replace the heater core, which is usually a fair amount of labor cost.

Since you are new to this old thread, what's the history of this issue on your car? Do your windows fog up? Do you smell anti-freeze in the cabin?
