Unhappy Windshield washer hose .. being eaten??

Don't know if others are experiencing this.. I leave my car outside 24/7. I *know* I have critters in the engine bay, as there are nesting materials on the base of the firewall.

Anyway - in 2022 one time I went to use my windshield washer fluid, and none came out. I checked under the hood, and eventually diagnosed that 13" (!) of the hose was "missing." I bought some larger diameter fuel line hosing and then taped it up using electrical tape.

Recently - same thing: I went to use my windshield washer fluid, and none came out. I thought I might be out, so I filled the reservoir and tried it again. Still nothing to the wipers. BUT - when I moved the car, there was a HUGE puddle underneath the reservoir area. I just had it diagnosed, and AGAIN, hose in the right fender (!) was "missing."

Anyone else experiencing this?? What are your work-arounds? I didn't ask the Monro Service Tech how he .. overcame the missing hose.

The hose / tubing seems like it is extensive, and would be expensive to have the entire .. length of it replaced.

I've never read about missing windshield washer hose, so either the critters got to it or maybe the service tech didn't install it correctly?

Just get a quote to get the entire hose replaced, because I'm not sure of the cost. Then you can determine the next step.
