Default Windshield Wiper Speed Changes

Okay, I searched previous posts and 'the google,' but I can't seem to find an exact example of what I'm experiencing, so I thought I'd post. I have a 2003 Accord (161,500 miles). Last night, driving in the rain, my windshield wiper speed varied. It seemed that when the engine's cooling fan kicked on, the wipers moved at normal speed, and when the fans cycled off, the wipers moved slower than usual (best guess, 1/3 slower)- this was true for all three settings- intermittent, normal, and high.

My guess would be a dying windshield wiper motor (and I will take it to my mechanic), but I wanted to see if anyone else had any other thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

You may simply just have a bad wiper motor relay.. Have your mechanic check that first
