Wiper motor out?
I have a 98 Honda Accord LX. This morning I went and turned on my windshield wipers andthey just stopped in the up position. I had to push them back down. I can easily move them up and down. When I turn them on, I just hear a hum, like the motor is trying to go, but can't. I was on my way to get my front windshield replaced anyway, and the guy said that the bolts are tight, but that is all the diagnosing he was really capable of. In addition, we've had a LOT of snow here and I didn't pull them up, combined with not driving it for a week, because of the cracked windshield, I think the snow kept pushing the wipers down toward the hood. Is this the motor? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Wiper motor out?
From your description, and the known weight of snow, I would first check to see if the wiper arm is just loose on the stud. Flip up the cover at the base of the wiper arm and try to tighten the nut a little bit.
Or the linkage under the cowling has popped loose.
Thats my 2 best guesses
