zzzz sound from tranny

Default zzzz sound from tranny

i have an accord 96 4cyl a/t ,I hear a zzzzz sound coming from the tranny when my car is shifting from 1st gear to 2nd ( automatic tranny) and all is quite from 2-3-4

any ideas?

hmmm...maybe you could articulate the sounds better? relate it to something? All I think of when I see 'zzzzzzz' is someone sleepin in a comic strip. haha

are you positive noise is coming from tranny??? it could also be the exh heat shield buZZZZZZing ,, chk the shield at the catalytic converter

there is also a bulletin 94-041 where at the exh mid pipe you have to replace gaskets. bolts, springs and nuts ,, the mid pipe is the pipe between the frt pipe and the cat convertor

Does it kind of sound like an ambulance in the distance? When my tranny went out that's what it sounded like.

Was the Ambulance coming to get the transmission?

I'd agree to check for the exhaust Buzz, theRPM probably is up around 1800 when the trans shifts. That is a classic RPM fornoise from the 'B' pipe joint.
