Default 1998 Honda Accord EX

I own a '98 Honda accord EX 4 cylr. and my check engine light came on, and I also noticed that when I start the car up and push down on my gaspedal to back out of my parking space or to take off from when the car is parked the gas pedal hesitates, but it only hesitates when I first turn the car on. So I took it to my mechanic, andhe said my catalytic converter needed to be replaced and alsosaid that it's going to cost about $825 to replace. My question is, is he getting over on me? Or is this around the price range for this repair? Please help.

That's extremely high. Order a high performance cat off of ebay and get a local shop to put it on! A lot cheaper that way.

Whoa, dont just change the cat because you *think* thats what it is. If you have an issue, diagnose what it is before you just throw money at the problem.
