Air conditioner Issue - Accord LX 2001
Hi
My honda is around 115k miles. Today morning, when i was driving i noticed that my air conditon was not running when i switch it on and keep it in low level till 2. If i change the ac cooling level to 3, it runs very well.
Please advise me, what could be the reason. I am not really good in car mechanics. However, i will really appreciate, if anyone can help in explaining this issue, so that i can take my car to the mechanic and ask him to review this issue.
thanks

There is a resistor bank which provides voltage reduction to the heater blower motor to reduce speeds (1,2,3). Speed 4 is full voltage. It appears your #2 speed resistor is open. Usual fix is a new resistor bank (all replaced). Part is under dash on pax side usually near the blower motor.
It should be a relatively inexpensive replacement cost (small labor content).
good luck
