Ca. emissioned car in Ga.
I have a '03 V6 LX Auto Accord that, I just found out is a Ca. Car. So it has 3 cats not one, and the computer has a tighter set of specs for tagging issues. So even though my car runs fine, and is well within GA. Emission specs, the Computer is crying foul to the Emissions computer.
A new cat setup has been quoted at $700+, and with the wifey out of work, that's cash I don't have. I'm looking for a cheaper, alternative to be able to pass emissions. Preferably one that will be safe for the car, as my mech. has said if this was not a CA. car it would pass alright, and he would recommend looking into working on it within the year.
Been reading around but haven't yet seen a post that seemed to work for my question.

Is the CEL on? If so, you should bring the car to AutoZone and have them scan the code, then post it up here.
To pass emissions you may have to spend the cash, you can save some money by buying the parts online. Once you get the code, we can tell you if it only needs a new O2 sensor or the whole shabang.
