Default eBay cat

When I do my exhaust, sometime in the next three or four months, I want to do the full system. I have my header picked out, my exhaust pretty much decided on (at least narrowed down to two or three choices, just debating how much I want to spend), but I want to replace the cat also, since Im doing the whole rest of the exhaust. I found this cat on eBay...

It seems kind of shady to me, like WAY too cheap. I dunno. Obviously its not really emissions compliant or it wouldnt say "off road use only." I dont live in an area with emissions tests though, so would that be a factor? If this deal is bunk, can anyone recommend a good high-flow cat? Thanks all.

Yeah, thats just a resonator tube, there is no catalyst system in there. That will just replace your cat with an open tube. To each his own but I would leave your cat or get a real high flow one.

Yeah, I hear good things about both random tech and magnaflows high flow cats. As stated above, the really cheap ebay ones you see are just test pipes.

I figured a cat for like 15 bucks was bs. I just figure that since Im going to be doing the header and cat back all at once, I want to get a better flowing cat also. Tom, I'll definitely check out those two you recommended, thanks!

they way i look at it .. your not going to be racing any vipers or anything.. you know.. so why pay the extra money for an actual high flo racing cat... if you are going to get header back you just need to make sure that all of you pipes are the same size so that one part of your system isn't restricting or conflicting with all of the others.. i have an exhaust system that i have had for a long time.. added a header.. and now adding a cat.. but i made sure to not get them to conflict.. no matter what you do with your cat.. your only going to gain 1-4 hp probably front it just by replacing it from the factory one.. so not a noticible differenct.. i say get the cheap ebay one and call it a day..
