Default Filter, right next to TB, vent in hood. Pros? Cons?

I read somewhere that someone was attempting to do this: Put the filter right up next to the TB with little or no pipe and put a vent in the hood right above the filter. It's supposed to produce a really nice sound. Idk about power wise, if it would have any effects. It surely wouldn't be hard to do, and it wouldn't cost that much to try out assuming I could find another hood somewhere.

Anyone else done this? Or have any opinions on the matter?

Iv seen ONE guy do this. Don;t think he gained anything and it's a PITA to mkae the filter to fit with no pipe. Go for it let us know how it works out for ya.

I need to check for clearance next time I get the chance. I'll try it and see how it goes. When I do, I'll make a thread about it with pics, and maybe even a video for the new sound.

if you put a short ram intake on it you will get a good sound at wide open throttle, but with it that short, the air wont collect long enough for any power gain
