Unhappy flex pipe leaks

i recently caught my flex pipe on my girlfriends drive way leaks pretty good now and its annoying it leaks right where its fitted to solid exhaust i have a 4-2-1 header dont know what kinds its un marked so i dont know where to get the down pipe. so i was thinking would it hurt anything to just eliminate it and weld it solid?

I bought a cheapie SS header off ebay and I like it way better then the old Dc sports i pulled off the car. Buy one of those and replace the whole thing. Are you talking about the donut connection at the cat? or the actually intermediate pipe after the cat?

Some years have a donut connection (kinda like a ball & socket) while other years have a flexible bellows with stainless overbraid.

NO. There MUST be some way for the pipe to flex.

The engine moves around in the engine mounts. If that pipe were rigid, it would break.
You could see if any muffler-shop type places sell a generic flexible section that you could install into there. Might be a PITA to make the connections???

I agree with jim find out the exact pipe size you have on your car and goto local parts store and tell them you need a slip-fit flex joint of your pipe size they should be able to hook you up ..... the longer the piece the better
