. grreat flow is good for me.
bigger isn't always better. the smallest pipes without restriction are the best. flow capacity through a round pipe grows exponentially and eventually, you get more backpressure from the overly large volume of gas in the pipe. Proper design is a delicate balance. For example, make a snorkle out of a 2" piece of PVC and try to clear it. Now try the same thing with a 1" piece. You'll find the 1" pipe much easier to use ..... now try it with a McDonald's straw ...... get the point?

Fenix ..... we want to see which size shoots the farthest to help build a potatoe cannon. BTW, don't load a potatoe cannon with Oxy-Acetalene. The shrapanel is dangerous when the chamber gets blown to pieces. And you thought your friend's were crazy!

Yes, i know all about this subject, so dont even try to school me. i know way more about exhausts than you think. for higher HP engines, bigger is better to a point. the correct piping diameter has everything to do with HP output. read this:

Velo ..... who ever said anything about what you know? My point is that bigger isn't always better and even though you know this, other readers may not. There's no "schooling" going on here! As far as pipe sizing, I look at it from an airflow perspective rather than HP. The two are related, but airflow dictates flow characteristics. The articles look great, but I will have to read them in detail later ..... my free time is running out.

Fenix, I'm the same way. I hardly use the computer at home at all!

i havent felt a loss of power off the line and i got a dc sports 4-2-1 ceramic header on my car
i got this header and my megan racing catback installed at the same time, and the catback uses 2.5 inch piping too
you can actually feel the difference!

you insinuated! regardless of what you think, the fact is that horsepower and airflow are directly related. the more powerful the engine, the more air it sucks in. the more it sucks in, the quicker it need to scavenge the exhaust gas away.

I appologize if I offended you, but my intent was not related to your knowlege at all.

This is not exactly true. I can prove my point with analytical physics, but I am not going to. For a given engine without changing the spark timing or AF tuning I'd agree, but these are pretty big caveots. An example is the K20A3 Hondata re-flash.
