I have an 02 accord and my cat is was rattling really bad everytime i changed gears. Its calmed down but i still think something is wrong. Any ideas as to what is wrong and what could of caused it. And how much would it cost ton replace, Thanks.
Perhaps its the heat shield?

I took it to the place i got it at and they said it would be $700 to replace it. My auto-tech teacher said a high-flow would cost around $150, is that true?

Just get a test pipe to replace the cat if you dont have emissions checks. Theyre like $50 on ebay. If not then yes, high-flow cats do cost $100-200...

1. Check the heat shields first, I've had a few rattling. Bend them if necessary.
2. The cat has a heat shield as well. Mine rusted and started rattling. Fix: tore off the lower half of the heat shield. I didn't feel it was completely necessary to protect the ground from heat.
3. Check the resonator on the mid-pipe. The welds around the ends of it will rust through over time and start rattling.
4. Check hangers and rubber dampers.
