Default Intake for a '91 Accord EX-R

I've been looking at a few intakes the past while and from they say they offer (better mileage, performance, etc), it sounds pretty good. However I never entirely trust what they saw on the box so I was hoping anyone could give me some examples from their owns cars on the difference intakes make.

Theoretically you'll get more mileage from a new intake because your letting your car breathe easier. The real deal is that you probably won't even notice it and if you drive like me, you will love the sound of your intake and end up getting less mileage than you started with. I guess if you did the whole i/h/e you might see some mpg increase but, in my opinion it's not worth the investment if your spending that money for gas mileage alone.

hey i have a 91 engine code f22a6, and i have a short ram intake on it. as soon as i put it on the hp increase was dramatic.. the torque increase in the low rpms is menacing around 1800 rpm, and i can dump the clutch and floor the gas at IDLE now, and my tire will light, and the tach will swing completely over in a smokey *** launch.. at 70 on the freeway if i dump it in third, my intake note will blow the doors off of any thing on the freeway. and in an old *** wagon people are always staring like....damn.....thats a mean bitch. as far as the gas mileage goes, yea if you dont dig into the intake note, you will see your mileage go up about 3 mpg. but trust me your gonna be hittin the note up, because its mean.

Thanks lightshow. I just bought an AEM cold air intake, but the closest one that fits a '91 accord is in Calgary so I gotta wait 4'6 weeks for it be shipped in. I would have gotten it elsewhere but for $150 I figured it'd be a good idea just to wait.
