You can order a good filter online. The new filter drops right on to the end of the tube replacing the cheap filter.

just order all ur stuff online. u shouldnt have to worry about anything getting into ur engine anyway because ur filter sits too high if it is a short ram intake. well since ur going for sound go ahead and get the SRI. nothing will get into the engine unless u ride with ur hood taken off lol. u wont really have to worry about puddles. unless ur driving thru a flooded zone that goes as high as ur drivers window lol. imo it's worth it. u will feel better acceleration but if u get a cold air intake, it will be more noticeable. i forgot to mention, mines not an SRI. but yeah, if u get one, just install it urself. i'm sure a short ram is easy since it doesn't look like ur gonna need to take ur front bumper off. whatever u do don't get anyone to install it unless its free( maybe ur friends ). let us know what u get now.

Yeah, going for the SRI today found out the price for an average taiwanese made SRI... around 90$ so yeah, gonna have it installed by a mechanic.
THANKS for all your help, I greatly appreciate it guys.

Seriously, you should install it yourelf. Getting a mechanic to install an SRI is a HUGE waste of money. You can do it yourself easily in 10 minutes max.

There's a SRI vs CAI FAQ that goes over all this.

Yeah doing the SRI/CAI yourself is a breeze... If you are comfortable replacing your own spark plugs, you should be comfortable instlaling a CAI/SRI...

Check out this wiki article i put together:
http://hondaaccord.wikidot.com/intake-info

that should give you all the info you need... but as the other guys said, using a cheap tube found on ebay (hell i've found REALLY cheap configurations at VatoZone but I'm not sure if i'd trust a plastic hose) and a nice K&N or AEM filter should set you right.
