Default problem with CAI

ok so i have a stock 99 accord 4 cyl automatic 2 door. i just put on an abay cai. i like the results except one thing. when idling or when just regular driving it sounds like im hauling an industrial sized air conditioner under the hood. when i punch it the sound changes pitch and sounds really nice. its just when im pullin in to my girls neighboor hood she calls me b4 i even get to her house sayin she can hear me comin down the road...... this is when im goin only 10-15.. is this normal?

yes your going to get some kinds of extra noise. When the TB plate is open...even a little your going to get some internal engine noise. Just b/c air is going in doesn’t mean sounds can't come out.
