Short Ram Intake
I'm new to using forums. just an FYI.
I have a 2003 Honda Accord LX, I4, 2.4L.
I bought a SRI for ~100.
Installed. But service code comes up. It says "Too lean".
Do SRI cause the engine to throw codes?
Any idea what's causing it?
I tried cleaning the MAF, and Idle Valve.
The engine idle's at ~600rpm, and is choppy.

600 is too low for an idle generally, mine idles at about 800. a four should maybe idle at a good 900. if the air intake is cheaply made (and usually an intake for 100 bucks is), it can actually restrict airflow, which causes the engine to inject less fuel, thus run lean. If I were you, keep the same pipe but buy a good K&N brand filter or an AEM dryflow or Injen or whatever. just a good name brand of the largest size you can fit.

Engines will throw codes when installing intakes mainly ones that are not carb exempt and designed to work with sensors and emissions. did you have to unplug any sensors from the stock system and or just leave anything just hanging there. you may need to make sure all sensors can be attached. also resetting the ecu may help or just wait for the computer to relearn the mixture.
thanks guys. All of my sensors are attached.
I think i'll try replacing the filter, it sounds like a good idea.
update: the too lean code now goes away when I drive like a grandma,
but returns when I push the car a lot.
it seems like a sensor problem, I'm gonna try replacing my O2 filter as well.
