It depends on the restrictions of your stock air box filter, also the throttle response with SRI beats stock, and CAI

You are right about the torque, HP is just a calculated product of torque.

So if you are saying that SRI pulls more torque, and CAI pulls more HP, it does not make any sense if tq and hp are directly proportional to each other, it has to one or another.

They happen at different rpms. Notice that peak torque is almost always at a lower rpm than peak HP.

In the real world, peaks really don't mean much. The area under the curve is what determines acceleration, in conjunction with vehicle weight. Peak torque can be used for comparison, but its still a slightly flawed comparison.

Rain and those holes have nothing to do with the necessity to go to a shorter pipe. Using the car as a raft and CAI vs. SRI and you have a point. Any less than 18" of water should not have any bearing on the intake type.

I too had a CAI, but since have changed my opinion on which is better. SRI is easier to maintain. I too will have an SRI, sort of, pretty soon.
LOL your gonna have a lot more to maintain that just the intake!
what do you mean? maintence wise.

I-m taking a lot of time and effort to make sure that I cover all bases so that maintenance is not difficult. The only differences should be more expensive oil changes and fuel.
Oil for what? I'm confused

My SRI leads into a turbo. Turbo = synthetic oil.
