A test pipe is a pipe that replaces your catalytic converter and it is just a pipe so the exaust flows out smothly to your muffler. yes it can give you more power but you will more than likly fail smog emissions. it is cheaper because it is just a short pice of pipe.

no it wont give you even close to 5 hp. get a magnaflow highflow cat. its 50 state legal, epa approved. it has great flow and is just as good for emissions as your stock cat. plus a test pipe will make the car sound loud and obnoxious.

nah, but it will increase the sound a bit, because of the total lack of sound deadening and reverberation. anytime you increase piping diameter you increase the noise level as well, so adding that to an aftermarket exhaust system would make it that much louder. besides...most people here i think live in states with some sort of emission laws. high flow cats flow extremely well and do just as good a job a stock cat does.

theres a local shop that when ppl come in to replace the cat, he puts on a magnaflow high flow cat, doesnt even tell them. ya know why? no one has complained or failed emissions. makes sense to me buying just one type of cat instead of many different oem ones.
