we (my boyfrien did it himseld)recently replaced the automatic transmission(got a used one from a bone yard). The car drove fine for a couple of weeks. then the check engine light came on. the code it thru was p1457. it still didnt give us any issues. then one day (when it was rainy) we had trouble starting it. we noticed that the wire coming from the starter is corroded. aboout a week later, i drove it to school (about an hour away). when i got there i put it in park and the D4 light stayed on. when i went to leave school it seemed fined till i got home then the D4 stayed lit again and flashed... now it's always lit & flashing shortly after being started. also the car doesnt seem to wanna shift outta 2nd gear. The car goes but instead of shifting so the rpm's get lower they just keep rising. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

What kind of trans fluid did your boyfriend put in?
Is needs to be the fluid from the Honda dealer or it can/will cause the trans to have problems.
The fluid from the Autoparts store that says 'safe for Honda" is not at all and should not be used.

As stated, please us Honda trans fluid....available at the Dealer or carquest.

Stop by some place and have the codes read, get the actual codes....this should help in finding the issue.
