Default 2007 accord 5 speed manual issue getting into reverse

Anyone ever have this issue? Wont go into reverse when shifted in the car. But if i go under the hood and manually move the linkage were the shift cables attach goes into reverse easily. I just put in new shift cable bushing hoping it would help/fix the issue but it didn't.

Can you get the transmission to go into reverse via the shifter when the engine is off?

Sounds like your linkage is either broken or seriously out of calibration.

You've looked at the shift cables attached to the transmission, but have you looked at the other end where they attach to the shift lever? You're going to have to get in there to change the cables anyway, you may as well figure out whether there's anything else you need around where the cables are attached in the console.

Took the shift boot off when i was trying to get it in reverse. Looks like if the shifter could go back a quarter of an inch more It would in reverse. But thats as far as it can go. And the cables have no adjustments that i can see.
