Default First Honda!

Hey guys, checking in here with my first Honda. Picked it up last night, joined to get advice on repairs/mods and learn more about the car! I have a 75 mile round trip commute for work and my sole reason for purchasing the car is fuel mileage. Apologizing in advance, I'm sure I will have some newbie questions that the vets will want to smack me for.

Thanks everyone!

Welcome to HAF.....thanks for joining.

We like to keep the "smacking" to a min on here . If you have a question, do a quick search. If you can't find the answer or what you need post in the proper section - almost everything ends up in General Tech - and someone will be more than happy to try to help you out.

I like the rims and tires! What brand and size are they?
They would look good on my car.

Well, for fuel economy, first, obviously, make sure your engine is in tune. Filters, plugs, fluids... The more efficient your engine is running, the better fuel economy you'll get. After that, a lot comes down to driving style. Drive smoothly and gently, and you should get good results. Drive like Lewis Hamilton at Monza, and you're fuel economy will obviously get worse.

One other thought- how are winters by you? If you get a good amount of snow, you might want to consider raising the car back to stock ride height. Just a thought.

We do get snow about 3 months out of the year, so raising the car back up is definitely in order. I wanted to do that anyway, its not a race car nor do I drive it like one. I can't stand bouncing down the road lol

On a side note, might be selling it this week. I got a great deal on it and I have the opportunity to make a few bucks if I sell now. I would like to find a newer Accord if I do sell this one! Trying to stay around 3-4K...Is there a golden year or a more desirable engine within that price range?

They are all good

I will say this, stay away from the auto trans in the 98-02 range.....I see yours is a stick and all of those are good.
