So...I am happy to say that I will be the new owner of a 98 Accord EX V-6 sedan. It will have 156k miles on it but it has been well maintained. Are there any concerns or problems I should be aware of? I don't know if there's something I should look out for or not. I'm hoping the transmission won't suddenly fail on me. Any advice?

 

Advice: buy a tranny cooler, the tranny may last fine for years but for as inexpensive as a tranny cooler is I'd just install one for added safety.

 

I HAVE A MOTOR TRANS AND ECU, ALL ARE FINE. IF U DO A FLUID FLUSH MORE SO THAN NEEDED IT HELPS TOO.

 

Don't ever flush the trans. Only drain and refill.
Make sure the timing belt has been changed. if not, change it ASAP. They need to be changed every 105k miles or 7 years (whichever comes first) on the 98-02 models.
