How Much power can stock pistons and rods handle

Default How Much power can stock pistons and rods handle

I want to add as much power to my 05 accord w/ 2.4L as i can with out having to O/H engine,but I dont know how much power the pistons and rods can handle. Tech at honda said they couldn't handle a turbo, but I want to know what they can Handle?

I've heard 12-14psi making high 300whp. and over 300wtq.

Even though that power is possible, reliability becomes a concern. More power on stock parts increases the chance of throwing a rod or melting a hole in the piston.

I would think going past 8psi on stock internals is pushing it.

14 is borderline dumb. A few dyno passes and downhill from there.

Its a K series not a F series you fools. Not that I would run that much, but yeah.

It doesnt matter if it's a K or a go kart motor. Pushing more power than the parts were designed for always increases the probability the something with fail.

Fool. It's science 101.

i need numbers in HP, not PSI. Probably going to go cheap w/ Nitrous just need to know how much i can push it before having to worry about reliability

I think you could handle a 75 shot no prob. Your K can handle a lot of power...

i agree. 75 shot. no more.
regarding the amount of PSI your engine can handle it would be about 8psi , trying not to loose any reliability... 14 psi is waaaayyyy too much...

EDIT:
i wanted to add, 8psi could mean a +80 hp gain, maybe more than 100, but im not sure.(very well tuned of course).

your car can handle up to 400hp i believe. or was it the k20 that could do up to 500hp?

I don't understand why you would be willing to spend four grand or so on a turbo, but not an extra thousand rebuilding the heads. You would end up saving money in the end.
