ma engine in good but the transmisssion is all facked up i have a 97 accord wit a f22 now i heard that its better to boost the f22 butstill the h22 will give you much more hp what do you think ?

 

h22 if going aspirated, and f22 if going turbo....

 

The H22 is more accepting of boost since of it's tougher construction, the first 2 generations of the h22 were manufactured with an intergal block guard. You can go much higher on the boost with it and there are a bit more parts and support for the h22 turbo since it is so popular

 

more accepting if you resleeve them, would be easier to post a f23/22 block and cheaper

 

to really boost the h22, you'd have to resleeve the block as that engine comes with Fiber Reinforced Metal cylinder walls. i would say tht since the f22 has an iron block, it would be much more ready for forged pistons and other turbo goodies..saving you about a grand. sorry i dug up an old thread..really. boosting an h22 = expensive. if i recal, f22 manifolds and h22 manifolds are interchangable, but that might just be h23 and h22...not quite sure..either way, the h22 isn't a strong engine for boost over 6 - 8 psi..great for n/a.

Absolutly h22a is the best engine for boosting! See the block of h22a and see all honda engine except h22a.U will know why.
