Default 2002 vs 1999 honda accord?

I have a choice been between a 2002 honda accord ex inline 4 or a 1999 honda accord ex v6. the 2002 has 121,412 miles and the 1999 has 119,656 miles. even though there are 3 years apart, they are similar except for the engine. which would yal recommend? the inline 4 or the older v6?

I assume both are automatics. I would avoid the 6 cyl at all costs, and personally wouldn't even buy a 4 cyl auto because of transmission problems that are common in these years. But far less chance in the 4cyl

so I should go with the inline 4?

Counterpoint: I have a 2001 V6 EX-L and it is a very nice car. Yes, the transmission is suspect, but I'm just planning on replacing it when it goes Tango Uniform and carrying on. I've driven both four and six cylinder versions and while the automatic may last longer when bolted to the smaller engine, the drivability of the V6 is significantly better.
