Default Another Honda - Oh snap

Had to go to the dealer for a part for the 97 Accord.

Mistake number one, told the wife I was going and she wanted to go with me and I said yes.

Mistake number two, a 2016 Pilot Touring AWD that just arrived at the dealer two days ago.

That has to be the most expwnsive "parts run" I've made in my life.

And yes, the 2016 Pilot can smash bugs just as good as the 2007.....of course they washed it before we took it off the lot and by the time we got home there were at least 20 bug "splats" on the nose.

Something strange about "paddle" shifters on a Pilot but I might get a chance to play with them at some point, if she ever lets me drive it again.

Left the dealer with 44 miles on it, "took the long way home" - good song -had 90 when it got to the driveway. Best pic I could get before it left, she was out of here pretty quick.

Looking good. I guess I have been out of the loop a little bit as I didn't even recognize it as a pilot. Seems like she has gotten two new cars(the Saab) and you haven't gotten any.

Say your coming to visit me and we'll go get you something real nice.

For 2016, it is a new "gen" for the Pilot. So a lot has changed on the outside, under the hood, ect.....somehow they have found another 30 hp under the hood, comes with the 9 speed DC trans - paddle shifters...still laugh at that but do want to "play with them"

Some upgrades on the inside, compared to the 07 I have....way more buttons on the steering wheel , center arm rests on the front seats - not just a "common" center console rest, second and thrid row seat changes that are much easier to use/get in and out of. Leather everywhere, not just the seats but the dash, door panels.

The one thing I HATE....NO CD PLAYER, really. I'm old and playing songs with a phone - mine doesn't. So I'm thinking when we are "road tripping" for many hours what I'm going to do I guess I'll have to get a simple "MP3" player and plug that in when everyone goes to sleep and I'm driving.

I'm still not sold on that yet. I was going to pass but we were there and to get one without it was going to take a while....screw it we are here and so is it and it was only like 1,500 less.....why not.

I too like CD's, however CD players are going the way of the 8 Track, most auto manufacturers are fading them out. The 'now' thing is to load a song library to a flash-stick and play it through the USB.

Personally, I'm sold on AWD as it handles the road so much better under all conditions, does reduce mpg of course, yet in my opinion.. it's worth the difference

Yea, the front system has two USB ports and some other port for the sound system. I do like the audio system in this one way better than the one in the 07......yes I'm the old guy that still likes to "turn it up" .....and the wife doesn't mind as long as she isn't sleeping

I'm hoping the AWD grows on me, if not oh well it wasn't that much more. As far as MPG's, well that wasn't a selling point either way. Getting a Pilot I knew MPG's would suck compared to an Accord or something else along those lines. The "sticker claims" 19 city and 26 Hwy , we'll see how the numbers flow out.
