BMW underrates their engine output somewhat so that 168HP is in reality somewhere around 180HP

 

Just a question... why would they want to underrate their vehicals output?

Just seems like something a car company would want to brag about...

 

it can be writen off for insurance purposes, it becomes defined less of a sports car with a 4 door and no power

 

This is Correct information..they have been doing this forever...all BMW ownwers Love the extra un numbered horses they have just laying there for the un suspecting who go after them.

actually I came to that conclusion based upon the accelleration numbers and the weight of the cars in question. There is no way for a 168hp I4 car with 2900lbs is getting to 60 in anything close to 7.2 seconds unless HP # are wrong since they cannot lie about the weight of the vehicle....

 

Wow that opened my eyes....................
